We know what you are really worried about

The fears we hear most before a kitchen remodel in Stockton

After doing this out here for 20 years, we can almost guess what is on your mind before you say it. The people in Stockton who call us are nervous about the same handful of things. Here is what we hear, and exactly how we handle each one.

“It is going to cost way more than the estimate”

That fear is earned. Most of the horror stories out here start with a low bid and a pile of change orders. We put one honest, itemized price in writing before we start, and it does not move unless you change the plan.

“My kitchen will be torn apart for months”

A kitchen is the one room you cannot live without, so we build the schedule around it. You get a real start and finish date, and we do not open up your kitchen until your cabinets and materials are actually here.

“The cabinets and tile will end up crooked or cheap”

Cabinets that do not line up, drawers that catch, grout that cracks. We set it right the first time with finishes that hold up, and we do not call it done until you would be glad to show it off.

“They will start, then disappear on me”

You have seen the half-finished jobs where the crew left to chase the next check. We are local, we finish what we start, and Danny and Trayson are on your job, not off starting three others.

“I will never be able to get anyone on the phone”

You deal with the owners here, not a salesman who sells the job and hands you off. One point of contact, calls and texts get answered, and you always know what is happening this week and next.

What a kitchen remodel includes

One crew, from old kitchen to new

You get one team for the whole kitchen, so nothing falls through the cracks between trades.

Layout & design

We plan the new kitchen with you, open up cramped walls, and lay it out so it is easy to cook in and easy to live in.

Custom cabinets

New cabinets built to fit your space, with the drawers, pull-outs, and storage that make the kitchen work for you.

Quartz countertops

Durable quartz counters and a new island that hold up to daily cooking and clean up with a quick wipe.

Appliances & plumbing

We set your new range, oven, and dishwasher, and run the sink and water lines so everything is ready to use.

Electrical & lighting

New outlets, under-cabinet lights, and bright, even lighting so you can actually see what you are cooking.

Flooring & backsplash

New floors and a tile backsplash that tie the whole kitchen together and make it feel finished.

Our specialty

The room that changes how your home feels

The kitchen is the heart of the home. It is where your family gathers, and it is the room that most changes how a house feels day to day and how it shows when you sell. A new kitchen makes the whole house feel new.

  • Easier to cook and live in. A smart layout with room to move, more counter space, and storage that fits how you cook.
  • Adds value. Buyers look at the kitchen first. A fresh kitchen helps your home stand out and sell.
  • Built to last. Custom cabinets and quartz counters that hold up to everyday cooking for years.
  • One honest price. You see a real written number before any work starts, not a surprise later.

How much will my Stockton project cost?

Local kitchen experts

We remodel kitchens for Stockton homes

Stockton is a small, historic town a few miles south of Tooele, tucked up against the mountains right by Rush Lake. It has a quiet, small-town feel, and a lot of the kitchens here still have their original cabinets, tight walls, and a layout that does not fit how people cook today. We open those up, add real counter space, and build custom cabinets that make the room easy to work in.

We pull the permit and build to code when a kitchen remodel moves plumbing, gas, or electrical, so it is done right and it passes inspection. Stockton is a short drive south for us, so you do not have to look far to find a good remodeler. You are not handed off to a salesman here. You get Danny and Trayson, the two owners who are actually on your job.

The small, closed-off kitchens in Stockton's older homes

Stockton goes back to 1864, when the mining and smelting camps went up around Rush Lake, so a good share of the town is older housing stock. The kitchens in those homes were built small and walled off from the rest of the house, with shallow cabinets and almost no counter to work on. That is the number one thing people call us about here. We take out the wall between the kitchen and the living room, pull the layout into one open space, and give you an island and real counter room so more than one person can be in there at once.

Newer homes on bigger Stockton lots

The other half of town is newer homes sitting on larger lots than you get over the mountains in the Salt Lake valley. Those kitchens are usually fine on space but came with builder-grade cabinets and laminate tops that wear out fast. On those we swap in custom cabinets, quartz counters, and better lighting, and we often extend the island since there is room to do it right. You keep the house you already like and end up with a kitchen that matches it.

Finishes built to last, because people stay here

Stockton is a quiet town of a few hundred people, and folks do not move much. Most of the families we build for plan to be in the house for years while they commute to Tooele or down into the Salt Lake valley for work. So we do not cut corners on the parts you touch every day. Solid cabinet boxes, soft-close drawers, and quartz that shrugs off hot pans and daily cleanup. It costs a little more up front and it saves you from redoing it in five years.

Why Upterra

You work with the owners, start to finish

Upterra Builders is not a big company with a sales office. Danny and Trayson run the jobs themselves, so the people who quote your project are the same people who finish it.

Owner-run

Danny and Trayson quote the work and stay on the job. No handoff to a project manager you have never met.

One honest price

You get a real written estimate before the work starts. If the budget and the plan do not match, we tell you up front.

Local to Tooele County

We work in Tooele, Stansbury Park, Grantsville, Erda, Stockton, and nearby. We know the local permit process.

Finished right

Clean framing, straight tile, and a crew that treats your home like it is theirs. Homeowners tell us so.

Questions

The things people ask first

Do you remodel kitchens in Stockton?
Yes. Stockton is a short drive south of Tooele for us, and kitchen remodeling is part of what we do across the county. Tell us your address on the free estimate form and we will confirm we cover you.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Most kitchens take a few weeks once we start, depending on the size and how much we change. We give you a real timeline before we begin, and Danny and Trayson keep the job moving so it does not drag on.
Can I use my kitchen during the remodel?
For part of the job the kitchen will be out of use, like when the cabinets and counters are out. We plan the work to keep that stretch as short as we can, and we tell you up front so you can set up a small spot to get by in the meantime.
Do you move plumbing, gas, and electrical?
Yes. If your new layout needs the sink, gas line, or outlets moved, we handle it and pull any permit the Tooele County Building Department requires. It is done to code so it is safe and it passes inspection.
Why quartz countertops over other options?
Quartz is tough, it does not need sealing, and it wipes clean, so it holds up to everyday cooking. If you would rather have granite, butcher block, or another surface, we can do that too. We will walk you through the choices during your estimate.
Is the estimate really free, and do you offer financing?
The estimate is free, with no pressure. Financing is available for approved buyers through our lending partner, so you can spread the cost of your kitchen out over time instead of paying it all at once.
