Erda is a rural, large-lot town out in the Tooele Valley, tucked between the Oquirrh Mountains and the Stansbury Mountains. A lot of folks moved here for the acreage and the space, and the newer custom homes going up out here have big, open kitchens. When a family wants that kitchen to work better, we open up cramped walls, add real counter space, and build custom cabinets that fit how they cook.
Erda became its own city in 2022, so a kitchen remodel that moves plumbing, gas, or electrical needs a city building permit and inspections. We pull the permit and handle the inspections for you, so it is done right and it passes. You are not handed off to a salesman here. You get Danny and Trayson, the two owners who are actually on your job.
Most of what we remodel out here are the newer semi-custom and custom homes going up on an acre or more. They are built around one big open kitchen that runs into the great room, so the kitchen is the room everybody stands in. When we remodel one, we size the island to the space instead of dropping in a small builder island, seat four to six people at it, and build a real walk-in pantry so the counters stay clear. On a house this size, a cramped galley is the first thing we open up.
A lot of Erda homes are on a private well, not city water, and out here that well water is usually hard and heavy on minerals. That matters in a kitchen. We plan for a softener or filtration loop, spec faucets and a pot filler that hold up to hard water instead of pitting and spotting, and steer you away from finishes that show scale. If you want plumbing run to the island or a filtered tap at the sink, we sort that out before we open the walls, not after.
People who bought out here for the acreage tend to want the kitchen to match the house. That means quartz counters, cabinets built to the ceiling instead of a soffit gap, a full-height backsplash, soft-close everything, and durable flooring like hardwood or good luxury vinyl plank that stands up to boots and dogs coming in off the property. We build to that level, and we give you one honest written price for it.
